Research interests

In situ monitoring of reaction kinetics (NMR, IR, UV), isolation of catalytic intermediates, and their implication in said catalytic systems are powerful experimental tools which provide a wealth of information. Using experimental and theoretical studies, we have shown that these techniques not only allow us to decipher complex catalytic reactions, (thereby aiding in the improvements of known systems: Pd catalysed C(sp3-H) activations, alpha-arylations…); but more importantly can be used to deviate from well-established processes (Pd catalysed remote arylations, Cu catalysed dehydroborylation…). Recently, we extended this strategy to non-metal mediated transformations, which allowed us to discover a novel synthetic methodology for the preparation of aldimines.
